Dearest Tuly נ"י and precious Surale ת',
Yesterday I received the card from dear Tuli נ"י of the 22nd. I am waiting for post from all of you. For several days we have had no postal deliveries here due to flooding. Since Tuli’s נ"י card was in Belgrade, it happened to arrive by ship. Last week there was an awful hail that destroyed everything in the fields. Since then, it has been raining nonstop. The population is very worried. But we have, at the moment, other worries too.
What is news with you? Do you have no פחדים ? I have already inquired a number of times whether all their businesses are continuing, Srul נ"י and Leo נ"י with his brothers.
I congratulate you my sweet, good Surale on your birthday. Be very healthy, strong and happy. May I be granted the זכי' to see you all have much happiness. That I myself, in my lifetime, will never again be able to be happy is certain and well-founded. I only pray to the Almighty that you, my beloved children, will be very happy and content.
I hope my good children שי' that your piety has not diminished. You well know how unhappy I would be if this hope were to betray me. I know it is not easy, but please be observant down to the smallest details as you have seen from your parents at home.
I hope to receive a certificate for Zwi נ"י – all children from 10 to 17 are supposed to receive one.

Liebster Tuli נ"י u. teueres Surale ת" Die Karte von l.Tuli נ"י vom 22 d. habe gestern erhalten. Ich warte schon von Euch alle Post . Wir haben hier seit einigen Tagen keinen Postverkehr wegen Ueberschwaemmung. Tuliנ"י seine Karte weil sie in Beograd war ist zufaellig mit Schiff her gekommen, Vorige Woche war ein schrecklicher Hagel der alles im Felde vernichtet hat. Seither regnet es ununterbrochen. Die Bevoelkerung ist sehr besorgt. Wir haben aber momentan auch noch andere Sorgen.
Was gibt es bei Euch ? Habt Ihr keine פחד ? Ich habe schon einige Mahl gefragt ob alle ihren Geschaeften nachgehen ? Srulנ"י und Leo נ"י mit seinen Brueder.
Ich gratuliere Dir mein suesses gutes Surale zu Deinen Geburtstag. Sei mir recht gesund stark u. gluecklich . Ich soll die זכות haben bei Euch viele Freude zu sehen. Dass ich mich in meinen Leben nicht mehr werde freuen koennen ist sicher.u begruendet. Ich bitte nur den Allm. ihr meine geliebten Kinder sollt recht gluecklich und vergnuegt werden.
Ich hoffe meine guten Kinder [Hebrew] dass Ihr an Froemigkeit nicht nachgelassen habt. Ihr wisset gut wie ungluecklich ich waere wenn mich diese Hoffnung truegen soll. Ich weiss es ist nicht leicht, aber bitte haltet Euch bis an die kleinste Details wie Ihr es zu Hause von Euren Eltern gesehen habt.
Fuer Zwi נ"י hoffe ich ein Zertifikat zu bekommen- es heist alle Kinder von 10 – 17 bekommen.
