My sweet dear Surale ת'!
I received your letter of the 17th on the 23rd. They do not allow us to make our own food. We receive prepared meals three times daily. For breakfast: tea and bread. Lunch: meat, soup and potato or noodles. For the evening meal, eggs or butter or plum jam and tea. For Zwi נ"י I receive daily a half litre of milk, 2 apples, and 80 grams of butter. This is ב"ה enough for us. We are in a little town. There are no Jews here except two who are married to Yugoslavs. The people are very nice. We are living with a mother with two daughters. We communicate here very well, because the Serbian language is similar to the Slovakian. Zwi נ"י also knows it well.
It looks like Kobersdorf, only bigger. Our people are living two to three couples per room in every second or third house. I have the advantage of having one room just with Zwi נ"י. We also have a nice vegetable garden. I am allowed to take lettuce and young onions or garlic. They tell us that we will soon be moving on, but under the present circumstances that is not to be believed.
Do you have no פחדים over there? I am glad that you have corsets to make. But is it not a strain for you? What is going on with Tuli נ"י? I’m very worried about him. He is so completely alone, his own master without supervision. Who looks after him? Please let me know his address.

Mein suesse liebes Surale ת" Deinen l. Brief vom 17 habe am 23 erhalten. Es ist nicht bewilligt Selbsverpflegung). Wir bekommen fertiges Essen 3 Mahl taeglich., Frueh Tee u.Brot mit Flseisch, Suppe u.Kartoffel oderNudel. Nachtsmal Eier oder Butter oder Powidl u.Tee. Fuer Zwiנ"י become ich taeglich ½ l. Milch, 2 Aepfel,,8 dkg. Butter. Wir haben ב"ה genug damit.Wir sind im Staedchen. Juden sind hier keine. Nur 2 welche bei Jugoslaven eingeheiratet sind.. Die Leute sind sehr net.Wir wohnen bei einer Mutter mit 2 Toechter. Wir verstaendigen uns hier sehr gut weil die Serbische Sprache dem Slovakischen aehnlich ist.
Zwiנ"י kan auch sehr gut. Es sieht aus wie Kobasdsorf nur grosser. In jeden 2ten 3ten Haus wohnen unsere Leute zu 2 bis 3 Ehepaare in ein Zimmer Ich habe den Vorzug allein mit Zwiנ"י ein Zimmer zu haben.Wir haben auch einen schoenen Gemuese Garten. Ich darf mir Salat und jungen Zwiebel oder Knobel nehmen..
Man sagt uns wir werden bald fahren aber es ist bei diesen Zustanden nicht anzunehmen.
Habt Ihr dort keine פחדים ? Ich bin froh dass Du Corsletts zu machen hast. Ist es Dir aber nicht anstraengend? Was ist mit Tuli נ"י Ich mache mir grosse Sorge ueber ihm. Er ist so ganz allein, sein ergener Herr ohne Aufsicht. Wer kuemmert sich um ihn ? Schreibe mir bitte seine Adresse.
